VP of Service: Ayla Palmer

-I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I went to an International school from K through 12th grade. After I graduated, I decided to move to Sacramento, California to pursue paralegal studies. I finished my first year of studies there, and decided to move to Tucson and continue my program. I'm going to Pima Community College right now studying the paralegal program. I'm working full time at a law firm as a file clerk and going to school full time as well. I've had a great experience so far, and have met some amazing people. I hope to finish my program by December of 2009. There after, I will continue my education to get my bachelors degree. As I gain experience in the field of law, working as a paralegal, I will make my decision of making a commitment to law school. I do not wish to stay in one place for too long. I enjoy traveling, experiencing new things and meeting new people.

"Work like you don't need the money, dance like no one is watching, and love like you've never been hurt."

VP of Fellowship: Marissa Casillas

- I am majoring in Nursing here at Pima Community College, with plans to transfer to the University of Arizona College of Nursing in the Spring of 2010. I enjoy putting a smile on people's faces, and I will always lend an ear. I love to dance (all styles), and my favorite movie is, "The Lion King." "Hakuna Matata!!!"

" Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."

                                               - Leo Buscaglia

VP of Finance: Sharon Buhs

- My husband's decision to change careers became a major turning point in my life. My husband's new job took him out of town frequently, so in an effort to combat the boredom, I decided on a whim to take a couple of classes. I found out that I enjoyed it and continued. I am now at the half-way point in receiving an Associates Degree in Computer Programming.

"Sometimes an insignificant incident may be the turning point in a man's life."

                                        -Florence Scovel Shinn

VP of Administration: Melissa Leyva

- I will be graduating from Pima Community College in May, 2009 with an Associates Degree in Business. My goal is to transfer to the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, where I will be pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Administration, concentrating on Health and Human Services. Pima has been the best experience for me, and has prepared me for the transition to a major University. Phi Theta Kappa has made my time at Pima Community College the best, and has offered me the opportunity to bring the best out of myself.  I have become more involved with my school and community, and have met many wonderful people along the way. My time at Pima Community College and in Phi Theta Kappa has taught me numerous traits that will help me succeed, educationally and professionally, in the future.
